UNE SMART Region Incubator launches Internship program, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship

UNE SMART Region Incubator (UNE SRI) is excited to launch an internship program connecting students with regional businesses, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship.

“UNE SRI is building a community of regionally-based entrepreneurs,” said Esther Pronker, Regional Connector, Armidale.

“The community includes businesses at all stages of their growth – from start-ups to established corporations. The internship program offers students valuable opportunity to access and learn from that community – and also a network within which to develop their own ideas!”

The UNE SRI internship program welcomes applications from students in the New England North West, independent of educational institute.

“We will work closely with colleges and universities to ensure best outcomes for businesses and interns,” Dr Pronker said.

At the core of the program is the UNE SRI commitment to offer professional development that encourages entrepreneurship, champions innovation, grows our region, and ensures our community’s place within a larger economy.

“We want students to understand the possibilities presented by innovation and entrepreneurship by seeing what is already underway.”

UNE SRI inspires innovation through various networking events, business mentors and workshops. A number of exciting internship topics have been identified, but new ideas are welcome.
