Ultimately the UNE SRI exists to help foster innovation and economic sustainability across the New England North West region of NSW. The region encompasses the LGAs of Tamworth, Armidale, Glen Innes Severn, Inverell, Tenterfield, Gunnedah, Narrabri, Moree, Liverpool Plains and Walcha. The New England North West is one of Australia’s most productive agricultural regions. It also boasts incredible biodiversity, nationally recognised tourist destinations and growing mineral resource and renewable energy sectors. In recent years, the region has earned a reputation for innovation in CleanTech, HealthTech, AgTech and creative industries.
