Sweet Success at the Australian Rural Business Awards!

Walls Honey Co Award

We couldn't be prouder to share the exciting news of Wall’s Honey Co's remarkable achievement as the 2023 Australian Rural Business of the Year (People's Choice) Award winner!

This incredible recognition was announced at the prestigious Australian Rural Business Awards, held on June 23rd, 2023.

Tamworth-based SRI Founders Wall's Honey Co is a family-owned and operated beekeeping business owned by Katelyn & Justin Wall. Justin is Chief Bee Health and Happiness Officer, while Katelyn manages marketing, wholesale clients, crafts their range of natural lip balms and beeswax wraps, and takes care of the books.

The Australian Rural Business Awards were presented by Spend With Us, an online marketplace supporting rural and regional small businesses. The awards were created to shine a spotlight on the extraordinary talent flourishing in rural and regional Australia, to honour excellence, innovation, sustainability, new business ventures, Australian-made products, and e-commerce in small businesses across the nation.

In a world challenged by droughts, bushfires, floods, and the ongoing pandemic, the Australian Rural Business Awards serve as a testament to the resilience and determination of small business owners in rural and regional areas.

Amidst these trials, Katelyn and Justin stood out and emerged victorious as the Australian Rural Business of the Year:

"We are incredibly grateful to our amazing community for rallying behind us and helping us secure this people's choice award," said Justin.

"This recognition is a true testament to the hard work and dedication we've poured into our business. Thank you to our loyal customers, supportive family, friends, and the wonderful Tamworth community!"

Driven by their commitment to ethical, sustainable, and environmentally friendly beekeeping practices, Wall's Honey Co keeps their bees exclusively within the New England region. Their small-batch, boutique honey is pure and of the highest quality, just as nature intended.

What's more, their product range proudly embraces sustainability, with honey beautifully presented in glass jars and their newly launched natural lip balms packaged in readily recyclable aluminium tins.

As recipients of the Australian Rural Business of the Year award and runners-up in two categories—Innovation & Sustainability and Australian Made Small Business Success—Justin and Katelyn are humbled by their achievements and immensely grateful for the unwavering support of their local community.

"Building a thriving small business in regional Australia has its fair share of challenges. But it's the support and encouragement from our incredible customers and the wider community that has truly fuelled our growth. That's the beauty of operating in a regional area—the people.”
