Health Pre-Accelerator Intensive

It’s time to take your business from idea to reality

If you have an idea for a business in the health space - whether that’s a new service, app or product - but don’t know how to take it from idea to viable business, the UNE SMART Region Incubator health pre-accelerator intensive is for you.

Validate your idea, understand your target market, establish your business structure and develop a solid foundation for your business.

  • Excuse the start-up lingo - a pre-accelerator is simply a structured, education program that helps early-stage entrepreneurs explore, test and validate their idea before launching their new business, service, app or product.

Pre-accelerators are hosted by an experienced expert or mentor and run in a group setting. This gives you the benefit of the mentor’s experience and expertise as well as the opportunity to network and learn from fellow entrepreneurs.

  • The UNE SRI health pre-accelerator intensive is for anyone in the community who has a business idea in the health space, or who even is simply drawn to the idea of starting their own business, to explore, test, validate and launch a new business, product or service.

Remember, even the world’s biggest and most successful businesses - from Amazon and Starbucks to Apple, Google, Uber or Tesla - all started as one person’s idea! Your idea, no matter how big or how small, is worth exploring.

  • Launch night: 16th March 2023 4 - 8pm @ Peel House Tamworth - meet your mentor Edwina Sharrock, get to know your fellow entrepreneurs taking part and make a start on your Lean Canvas aka your one-page business plan.

Focus weekend: Saturday and Sunday 25th and 26th March 9.30am - 5pm @ Peel House Tamworth - this is where the magic will happen! Two days of complete focus on your business idea, guided by Edwina every step of the way along with the support of UNE SRI Regional Business Connectors, fully catered and everything you need for the weekend supplied.

Final night - 5th April 2023 4 - 8pm @ Peel House Tamworth - where to next? Summarise where you’re at, your next steps and more!

  • Does the gap between your big idea and operational business seem overwhelming? So much so that it holds you back from making a start?

Or perhaps, you’ve made a start but have come up against challenges and aren’t sure what to do next or where to find help to get your idea off the ground.

Whichever camp you fall into a Pre-Accelerator Program will give you the practical tools, guidance and support you need to take your idea from concept to reality, ensuring you don’t skip over the crucial steps of market research, idea validation and business set-up.

A pre-accelerator program can also be an essential first step in preparing you for an intensive accelerator program, applying for grant opportunities or seeking investment (where you will need to demonstrate your prodcut/market fit and also have a working prototype).

  • Our pre-accelerator will be delivered in an intensive format - over the course of two evenings and one weekend.

Unlike other pre-accelerators which can be spaced out over 8 weeks or more, we’ve created a short, intensive program that’s been designed to fully immerse you in the experience. No distractions, no need to schedule out one evening a week for months at a time around family and work commitments, and no excuses.

Additionally, not only will you have the benefit of working with an experienced and successful entrepreneur, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with like-minded people from the Tamworth region who are interested in starting a business or exploring their new product idea.
