Founders present Armidale’s Tech Vision

Four UNE SRI founders shared their stories as part of the Rotary Club of Armidale event ‘Armidale’s Tech Vision in Action: what’s really happening at NOVA’.

The group was keen to learn more about UNE SMART Region Incubator and how it grows new business in the New England North West, and enjoyed the opportunity to utilise the facilities at NOVA.

“Armidale is our heartland to grow technology and research rich businesses,” said UNE SRI Director Lou Conway.

“Our community has a strong track record of growing cutting edge business and many of these are members of Rotary.  The four who presented are each founders of startups that are tracking with investment, customers and aspiration to do business differently from Armidale.  The role of the UNE SRI is part of this story and how together we can all support next generation founders to see the opportunities on our horizon.”

Thank you to Kate Armstrong-Smith (Omelia Tech); Danielle Morton (Zondii); Bill Mitchell (Optiweigh) and Brendan Mooney (People Tech Revolution). Each of the founders presented on what problem their business is solving, why they are building this solution in Armidale and what their prediction is for the future of their business in Armidale.
