Drought-Resilient Business Planning Workshop Unleashes New Revenue Streams

Our most recent SMART Session in Moree tackled the challenges faced by businesses dealing with unpredictable weather patterns and economic uncertainties. "Thriving in Challenging Times: Drought-Resilient Business Planning" was the focus of a 3.5-hour session led by business strategist Brooke Alexander on 22nd November.

This workshop, a collaboration with Moree Plains Shire Council and funded by the Federal Government Murray–Darling Basin Economic Development Program and the NSW Government Accelerating Regional Innovation Fund, aimed to help businesses build resilience and foster growth. Despite two attendees being unable to join due to recent rain, they were able to benefit from extended online consultations.

The workshop provided practical insights for small business owners, starting with a comprehensive SWOT analysis to identify immediate opportunities and challenges specific to their businesses. Attendees learned about revenue streams, cost analyses, cost-saving measures, and effective low-cost marketing strategies tailored to local markets and drought conditions. They also engaged in action planning, financial planning, and budgeting exercises to strengthen their long-term strategies.

One of the workshop's highlights was the opportunity for personalised one-on-one consultations with Brooke, offering tailored advice and fresh perspectives. Participants found these sessions invaluable, gaining actionable insights into their unique circumstances.

Café Gali catered a delicious morning tea and lunch, providing a relaxed setting for networking and sharing experiences among participants.

"Thriving in Challenging Times: Drought-Resilient Business Planning" proved to be a valuable workshop for small businesses navigating the complexities of drought and economic instability. With expert guidance and support, participants left equipped with the knowledge and tools to find an extra $10K in their businesses next year and beyond.

For those who missed this workshop, or for those looking to build on their newfound knowledge, another workshop is scheduled for January 24th, 2024. Returning and new attendees can expect an enhanced focus on positioning their brands, effective marketing, and generating leads in the upcoming year.
