Activating Tamworth businesses

The Smart Region Incubator, in partnership with Tamworth Regional Council, has been awarded a grant of $368 000 from the NSW State Government’s Bushfire Economic Resilience Fund to run a Business Activation and Resilience Program in Tamworth.

The collaboration will facilitate delivery of a program across the Local Government Area that supports and engages community in growing ideas into enterprises, strengthening businesses and creating jobs.

The initiative will directly support new and existing businesses to take an innovative and forward-thinking approach to building financial capability, diversification, market expansion and job creation. Over a period of two years, entrepreneurs and local businesses will have access to a series of events and hands-on-help in specifically identify areas of need, such as business resilience plans, marketing, grant writing and product and service diversification.

There will also be the opportunity for businesses to take part in the highly regarded Business Leverage Program, a provide, high impact and experiential 12-month program designed to scale up growth orientated companies and help business owners grow and master their business. This program will be delivered by UNE SRI Expert in Residence and leading business coach, Mandy Walker, who applies a strong focus on building sustainable and profitable business models, accountability and financial intelligence.
